How do I register?
In order to register your child must be attending Lakeridge School, Colette Bourgonje School or South Corman Park School. We only accept online registration. After you have registered you can complete your registration by following the directions on our confirmation page. Please follow this link if you would like to register now: Registration
Can I register for more than one program?
Yes! You can register for any combination of Before, After, Kinder or Casual care. In fact, when you attend multiple programs you receive a discount. Please see our current rates under the rates tab on the Home Page.
How do I figure out the cost?
Depending on what services you are looking for, the cost varies. We charge a monthly rate for our program, but also offer a casual card. The casual card may only be used two times per week or less. If you plan on attending more than this you would require "full time" care. You can find all of our rates under the rates tab on our home page! Please make sure to click the year you intend on registering for in order to view accurate rates.
How do I pay?
The first payment you will need to make is your deposit. You may pay this by sending an e-transfer to director@kidstimechildcare.com. Please set the password to "kidstime" and include your child's first and last name in the memo. If you are paying for a casual card or a PD Day you will also be required to pay via e-transfer.
Once you have paid the initial deposit, the remainder of your payments can be paid via Pre-Authorized Debit. Towards the end of your registration process you will be required to register at the following link: Pre-Authorized Debit Registration
Fees will be withdrawn on the 1st of every month until May 1st, or earlier if proper notice is provided.
Why do I have to sign up for Pre-Authorized Debit?
Having the payments paid automatically and directly to our program account cuts down on many hours of administration time. This allows us to put funds back into the program by cutting overhead costs. PAD is much easier to track and manage than any other collection method.
Do you have a waitlist?
We currently do not have a waitlist for the before and after school programs. We do however have limited spaces for the Kindercare program located at Lakeridge School. In order to ensure the best success at securing a space, registration is preferred as soon as possible, but no later than August 1st. If registering after August 1st, you may have a delayed start date. For any registrations made after August 1st there will be a $50 registration fee added for additional administrative tasks. Any cancelled registrations after August 1st will forfeit their deposit.
Do we have to pay a registration fee and do we get it back?
The $50 registration fee on registrations made after August 1st is to compensate for the extra administrative tasks. This fee is non-refundable. Registrations made before August 1st will not be required to pay the $50 fee. When families register before August 1st, it gives us time to staff and supply the program and space appropriately. It also allows us to run our processes in batches. When we add additional children after that date, it creates a very small timeline to source, interview and hire qualified staff, as well as individually process the new registrations. Our preference is to charge no registration fees by having everyone register before August 1st, that is a win-win for everyone!
What is the deposit for and do we get it back?
The deposit (equal to one months fees) is only required on our monthly rates. The deposit will be held by us for the last month in care, which would typically be June. Therefore no monthly fees are due on June 1st. If you choose to leave the program earlier, you can provide notice on the 1st of the month and your deposit will be applied to that month.
How do casual cards work?
The first casual card purchased must be a block of 25 hours. The casual cards may only be used two days per week or less. If you require more care than 2 days per week, you would be required to register for a monthly plan. The casual card is charged a minimum of 1 hour per visit and time is rounded up by half hour increments after that. When you run out of hours on the casual card, it is your choice if you would like to purchase more hours or not. If you do choose to refill, you can purchase in 25 hour time blocks, or 12 hour time blocks.
Please make sure to send us your schedule as far in advance as possible to ensure proper staffing and ensure a space for your child. Spaces are not guaranteed. All casual hours expire in the end of June.
What are PD Days and how do you register for them?
KidsTime operates on 3-way conference days, as well as Teacher Development days. On these days students do not have school. We offer full day care on a first come first serve basis. These days have their own cost (found on our payment page). Two weeks prior to each PD Day we send out an email with the information for the day. They typically include a field trip or special project, as well as lunch. Examples of past activities: Forestry Farm, Bowling, CanAm Gymnastics, Indoor Ice Skating, The Backyard (bouncy castles), Pike Lake, Lakewood Civic Center (swimming), Crickle Creek, Apex, Kinsmen Park, etc. Examples of lunches provided: Subway, McDonalds, Dairy Queen, Pizza, HotDogs, Taco in a Bag etc.
Can I access subsidy?
KidsTime Child Care is not funded by the government, and we do not receive any grants, therefore we do not have access to subsidy for our families. We have had families access grants and/or subsidy privately in order to assist in their fees. We are able to provide families with information needed in order to access this type of assistance.
Why do you not charge hourly rates?
KidsTime charges our fees monthly in order to ensure an adequate budget for staffing. Each staff member is required to be paid for a minimum of 3 hours, regardless if children are present. By charging monthly we can ensure we have a proper ratio of staff for the children attending, and minimize potential stressful situations for both the children and our employees. This also allows us to retain staff members by offering them regular monthly hours instead of scheduling on a call in basis.
Are you open during holidays and school closures?
KidsTime operates on PD Days, however we are closed for all school recognized holidays as well as over the week long school closures and summer. This includes the Dec/Jan break, the February break and the April break. We operate until the end of June and reopen on the second day of school (the first FULL day of school).
During closures families typically take holidays, rely on family members, or register their children for week long camps. There are some amazing camps offered by the University of Saskatchewan as well as several organizations throughout the city. During summer months, we often have employees offering "nanny" services. We send out a list with phone numbers towards the end of the school year.
When are PD Days and School Closures?
Please check out our calendar for up to date information on KidsTime events and school closures:

What are the drop off/pick up procedures?
When dropping off and picking up a child, please do so in person. You may walk your child in and bring them directly into our care. When picking up, again, please do so in person, check the playground outside first and then if we are not outside proceed to head inside for pick up. We consider the direct transfer of care the safest method for pick up and drop off.
We used to have a phone call pick up system during the pandemic. This was because parents were not allowed in the school. Unfortunately this affected program quality, as our staff were constantly on the phone with parents instead of providing quality care to the children. We no longer employ the phone call pick up system.
What are your staff to child ratios?
We aim to keep a ratio of 1:15 for staff to children. As children get picked up after school, the ratios get even better. During the Kindercare program we often have a ratio of 1:10 or better.
Unfortunately we are not able to provide 1:1 care. We are unable to provide for diverse needs. We are not able to assist with toileting, eating, dressing (outside of the expected winter gear assistance) or extensive behavioral regulation needs.

Do you pick up my child from class?
We pick up Kindergarten children directly from their teacher each day. For Gr. 1-3 we meet them in their classroom hallway and take them down to our program. For the older grades, they come directly to their program on their own. Attendance is taken each day as soon as they arrive. If there are any children not present, their parents are notified immediately.
Are all the children together in one group?
We start each day with peer groupings (Kindergartens in one group, Gr. 1's in another, etc.) . As the day goes on, our children start to mix based on their interests. It is great when the children are given an opportunity to help and teach the younger children, and it gives the younger children an opportunity to play with the older children that they look up to. Depending on the day, we may mix age groupings or we may stay within a similar aged group.
What should I do if my child will be absent?
If your child will be absent from our program please make sure to notify our staff as soon as possible. We make phone calls for children who are not present and this takes time away from the children in our care.

Why am I not getting regular emails from KidsTime?
Please check your spam folder. Our emails are sent out in large groups, which some email addresses tend to filter out and our updates get sent to "junk mail". If you still do not see our emails, please reach out to make sure we have the correct email address on file. We send out regular updates so you should receive 1-2 emails from us per month.
Do you have a welcome package with program information?
We sure do! Each year we send out an updated version of our welcome package so families can stay up to date! Please click the link and take a peek at our current welcome package.
How can I access the confirmation page once I have closed it?
Once you have gotten close to the end of the registration process, a confirmation page can be accessed with steps to finalize your registration. If you closed out of this before saving it, you can access it through this link:
